Thank you Karen for sharing your passion for the Labyrinth path and for the introduction to hand held labyrinths. I like the sound of the virtual meditations.. πβ¨
Youβre welcome, Artemis! I hope you have a chance to join one of their virtual handheld labyrinth walks. Check out Veriditas here on Substack. They offer lots of engaging material around labyrinths, including a way to sign up for their weekly Friday virtual group walks. I usually attend the one that happen at 4pm PST/7pm EST, but that means midnight your time. They also offer virtual group walks at 12pm PST/3pm EST, which is 8pm your time. They often have live musical accompaniment. ~:0)
Thank you for sharing your experience of walking labyrinths youβve broaden my perception. Iβve tended to walk it slowly but I love the idea of singing as I walk or even blowing bubbles. I recently walked one in the grounds of St Georgeβs Cathedral, Cape Town. I found it a helpful letting go and felt a sense of peace following it.
I'm so glad I've given you additional appealing ideas for ways to walk a labyrinth, and I'm glad your walk on the path near St. George's Cathedral in Cape Town brought you peace. <3 Thank you for reading, Sian, and sharing.
Oh Karen, I love this. I will be joining one of the virtual labyrinth walks. I love the idea of musical accompaniment. Thank you so much for sharing. I look forward to joining in the 'walk'. We had two labyrinths in our gardens at Calvary, the palliative hospital where I worked. The main one was in the Peace Garden. It was/is beautiful. To sit and meditate, to walk and take in the serenity. Time out and time to think for our patients, their families and the staff. The chapel was nearby, should anyone need the silence. I miss my other 'home' so much. I miss the peace it gave me for a long time. The belonging. But, as we know, nothing stays the same.
I love the ceramic dream hand labyrinths you have made. Just beautiful. I wish I could join you in person. Maybe one day.πΈοΈπͺΆ
I'm glad you've found comfort in walking labyrinths. I look forward to seeing you in the space of a virtual walk. I usually attend the ones that take place at 4pm PST, which is 7pm EST (my time zone), if that time also works for you. π.
While I do create labyrinths, usually on canvas, with a painted background, the 2 ceramic labyrinths I have were made by 2 different people, each of whom I met at a labyrinth event. I'm glad you like the "Dream" labyrinth ~ it's the one I usually walk during the virtual walks online.
I'm also look forward to one day meeting & walking together in person. πͺΆ
Iβve walked it several times. My most interesting one was walking an outdoor labyrinth out in the country at night. We placed candles along the pathway, and as we each walked the labyrinth, we passed each other as we made the circuit. The strange part was many of us felt like we were passing hooded figures from another life as we walked in reverence. I will never forget it.
Thank you for sharing this! I love walking labyrinths. In fact, I wrote about an experience I had with a beautiful one in a small town in Montana last summer. I love hearing about others' experiences. Blessings to youππ
Thank you, Brenda! So glad you've enjoyed walking labyrinths. Montana sounds like a wonderful setting for walking the path, surrounded by the mountains! ~:0)
That sounds like a very moving experience, Nancy. Especially the feeling of seeing fellow walkers as if they are from another realm...like time fell away and everyone touched different mystical layers of each other. π
