Queen Anne’s Lace blossom. She speaks to me of Summer.

Dearest Summer Fae on the Path,

Greetings from the heart of Summer’s fullness and joy! How has this season been for you? I hope you have spent time engaged in carefree play that brings you many smiles! What aspects of Summer’s magic do you look forward to every year? Have you spent time with them this year? Here are some of mine.

Some of my favorite Summer enchantments:

Balmy breezes that cool the air on hot days.

Music ~ birds, crickets and frogs singing. Bees buzzing. Windchimes ringing.

Dancing dragonflies, glowing fireflies and hopping grasshoppers.

Stargazing ~ & watching the Perseid meteor showers late into the night.

Drawing with colorful chalk on the walkways of our cohousing community.

Watching bees and butterflies drinking from Sunflowers!

Walking barefoot on the pine needle & moss ~ carpeted labyrinth path

Eating fruit harvested straight from their source ~ strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, currrants, peaches…

Planting, nurturing and harvesting nourishment from gardens.

Brewing sun tea, chilling it garnished with mint, lemon slices and a cinnamon stick, then sipping it when I return from my afternoon walk.

Slow Living

August is the month for savoring the final weeks of summer and taking life more slowly. These are the days to draw closer to the life around us and notice all of the features in the plant, bird and bug beings we admire. It is the month for finishing books we’ve been reading while sipping tea or lemonade. Where is your favorite place to read in summer? What do you love about it?

When I join my friends for our evening walks (more like meanders), I am amazed at how many flowers greet us with each step. I also cherish the many shades of green along the forest trail I walk each day on my way to the labyrinth. They are the types of moments I look forward to when summer arrives and I make sure I allow myself to enjoy being part of them, part of the diverse web of life that surrounds me. It’s all part of the healing my nervous system needs.

Openings in the Lion’s Gate Portal

On August 8th every year the Lion’s Gate Portal opens and the powerful energy of this event invites us into creating deeper intentions for manifesting the balanced, joy-filled life we dream of living. It’s the best time for appreciating the abundance in our lives as the natural world embodies earth’s generous abundance. It’s the key to the Magic of Manifestation. How much abundance can we truly feel in our lives and how can we hold that abundance with joy and reverence, believing that we deserve to take time to receive it?
